Seafreight Operations Associate

About the role

The Seafreight Operations Associate ensures the smooth and accurate flow of sea‑freight shipments by providing meticulous administrative and clerical support. You will coordinate logistics activities from pick‑up to delivery, act as a communication hub, and continuously look for ways to improve processes.

Key responsibilities

• Handle export, import and cross‑trade seafreight shipments from pick‑up to delivery.
• Process customer inquiries and maintain regular communication with customers, shipping lines, authorities, branches and partners worldwide.
• Maintain files according to internal guidelines and prepare/check transport documents.
• Monitor delivery schedules to ensure on‑time performance.
• Manage claims and damages, supporting resolution and documentation.
• Contribute to process optimisation and promote operational excellence.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Experience in seafreight operations.
• Outgoing, communicative personality with a customer‑oriented mindset.
• Strong quality awareness and curiosity to learn new things.
• Good command of spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.
• Team player with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Experience with CargoWise (advantage).
