Security Coordination Officer (P4)

About the role

The Security Coordination Officer (P4) will lead the planning, implementation and oversight of security and safety measures for the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM) staff, offices and field operations based in Geneva, Switzerland. Reporting directly to the Head of the Mechanism, the incumbent ensures a secure working environment while supporting the mission’s investigative mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage security and safety for IIIM personnel, premises and field activities.
• Conduct analysis of security threats and develop risk‑management strategies.
• Plan, direct and monitor security operations across all programme areas.
• Investigate security incidents and produce comprehensive reports.
• Design and deliver training programmes to enhance staff security awareness.
• Liaise with local authorities, UN agencies and other partners to implement security plans.
• Provide expert advice on security matters to programme managers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating security operations for international organisations.
• Strong analytical skills for threat assessment and risk mitigation.
• Ability to develop and deliver security training.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills with authorities and partners.
• Capacity to work efficiently in a cost‑effective manner.
