Security Information Analyst Internship

About the role

This unpaid, full‑time internship supports the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM) in Geneva by monitoring the security environment in the Syrian Arab Republic and related operational contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct targeted open‑source research and analytical assessments on security developments and emerging risks.
• Monitor and maintain situational awareness of political, security, economic, social and technological developments affecting personnel safety.
• Research, compile and summarize information on the evolving security environment.
• Support the preparation, review and updating of Security Threat and Risk Assessments (STRA).
• Identify trends, patterns and potential security implications through analytical reporting.
• Prepare analytical summaries, briefing materials and presentations for internal use.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize open‑source information.
• Attention to detail and ability to keep documentation up‑to‑date.
• Capacity to work under supervision of the Security Coordination Office and Witness Protection Officer.
