Security Research Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Security Research Lead to drive cutting‑edge cybersecurity research that fuels AI‑powered products and threat‑intelligence capabilities. Based in Switzerland and operating in a remote‑first environment, you will shape the research function, mentor a growing team, and influence the future of cloud and application security.

Key responsibilities

• Define methodologies, standards and best practices for discovering, validating and prioritising cloud and application security threats.
• Conduct advanced vulnerability research, including exploitation techniques, attack vectors and emerging threats.
• Collaborate with engineering, AI/ML and product teams to turn research findings into product features that improve detection, prioritisation and remediation.
• Produce technical intelligence such as CVEs, advisories, threat‑intel reports and real‑world vulnerability analyses.
• Publish high‑quality content – research papers, blog posts, conference talks and podcasts – to raise industry credibility.
• Establish quality‑assurance processes for research and continuously improve the research framework.
• Mentor and develop researchers, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on security research experience with a proven record of vulnerability discovery and proof‑of‑concept development.
• Deep expertise in cloud security, especially AWS, and in application‑level vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to translate research into product improvements through close work with engineering, product and AI/ML teams.
• Strong publication record – research papers, conference presentations or community contributions.
