Senior AI Research Engineer

About the role

Nexthink is seeking a Senior AI Research Engineer to join its research team and shape the next generation of AI agents that power its digital employee experience platform. You will lead ambiguous, high‑impact problems from concept to production, delivering prototypes that can scale to millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agents and features, turning vague problem definitions into production‑ready solutions.
• Drive rapid prototyping, experimentation, and validation of new ideas.
• Guide the technical direction of the AI team, set priorities, and ensure timely execution.
• Make pragmatic decisions when trade‑offs are unclear, balancing research exploration with concrete delivery.
• Mentor engineers, keep the team focused on outcomes, and maintain a strong sense of customer value and technical feasibility.
• Explore emerging AI technologies, tools, models, and agentic patterns with curiosity and critical judgment.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in AI, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
• 3–7+ years of experience in software engineering and applied AI/ML, including impactful projects or research.
• Proven ability to lead technical work in ambiguous or fast‑changing environments.
• Strong leadership and mentoring experience, with a pragmatic mindset.
• Clear, structured communication skills adaptable to technical and non‑technical audiences.
