Senior Backend Developer (PHP)

About the role

BLENT is a data platform serving the hospitality industry, aggregating real‑time data from many sources. As a Senior Backend Developer you will quickly master the existing architecture and take ownership of critical backend components that power APIs, services and data pipelines handling millions of data points daily.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and understand BLENT’s application architecture and data flows.
• Design and implement new backend features, APIs and services.
• Develop and optimise data pipelines that ingest, consolidate and serve large volumes of hospitality data.
• Work closely with the CTO, taking real ownership of critical platform parts.
• Collaborate with the team in an Agile environment to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Required profile

• At least 6 years of relevant experience; lead‑developer experience is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and passion for technology.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Experience in Agile teams and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• PHP and Laravel framework.
• PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, handling large datasets and complex queries.
• Queues and asynchronous task processing.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Claude Code.
• Frontend technologies (optional).
• Python and JavaScript (optional).
