Senior Backend Engineer – Developer Experience

About the role

Frontify is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Developer Experience team. You will work with product managers, stakeholders, and engineers to build and optimise a dynamic, scalable platform that supports thousands of marketers and designers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement hyperscaling solutions for third‑party systems, enhancing platform extensibility.
• Build and refine API interfaces and service communications with a focus on clarity, scalability, and adaptability.
• Collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams to create efficient contracts and interfaces.
• Maintain and improve existing solutions, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Partner with product management from discovery to delivery to ensure viable product changes.
• Coach and mentor fellow engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in backend engineering, preferably with large‑scale, public‑facing APIs.
• Strong understanding of API design, scalability, and platform extensibility.
• Generalist mindset able to tackle varied technical challenges.
• Ability to work remotely from anywhere in Switzerland or on‑site as needed.
