Senior Backend Engineer - Golang

About the role

SMG Swiss Marketplace Group is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen the backend teams of its online marketplaces, tutti.ch and anibis.ch. You will work in a Scrum‑based, stream‑aligned product team, delivering high‑impact Go services to over 300 k daily users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, deploy and monitor Go‑based backend services on AWS using Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with Platform (infrastructure) and Data (BI) teams while owning a specific domain.
• Write and maintain high test coverage with Testify, including integration tests for databases, Redis and Kafka.
• Perform code reviews and manage deployments directly from GitHub.
• Ensure reliability and performance of services such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, SendGrid and Auth0.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with Golang and other strongly typed languages.
• Proven ability to make high‑impact technical decisions and drive project outcomes.
• Positive attitude, pragmatic mindset and strong empathy for teammates.
