Senior Consultant – IT Architecture & Technology Strategy

About the role

Join Deloitte's Technology Strategy & Transformation team in Zurich to help C‑suite executives modernise application landscapes, define target architectures and shape transformation roadmaps. This position is ideal for engineers who want to move beyond hands‑on coding into advisory work on complex IT projects.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business challenges into practical, well‑structured technology solutions.
• Support solution and enterprise architecture work, including documentation, landscape assessments and target‑state designs.
• Bridge business and technology by explaining technical concepts, dependencies, trade‑offs and risks to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to IT strategy, application modernisation, platform strategy and large‑scale transformation roadmaps.
• Participate in client workshops, interviews, status meetings and deliver presentations.

Required profile

• Graduated in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Information Systems or a comparable STEM field.
• 3‑5 years of professional experience in software development, engineering, Cloud, DevOps or platform engineering.
• Strong analytical mindset, curiosity about how systems work and motivation to move into architecture and strategy.
• Fluent English and German or French communication skills.

Required skills

• Platform engineering expertise.
• Solution architecture and enterprise architecture understanding.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF (advantage).
