Senior Controller PE Funds (German Speaking)

About the role

coni + partner, a consultancy founded in 1993 with headquarters in Zurich and subsidiaries in Dusseldorf and Shanghai, is recruiting on behalf of its client, the asset management division of an international bank based in Zurich. The position is for a German-speaking Senior Controller of Private Equity funds.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of the day-to-day financial operations of private market funds, including controlling of investment activities, cash management, NAV closings and internal reporting to senior management, as well as external reporting to investors and regulators
• Process capital calls and distributions, including revenue calculations for the portfolios
• Support fund commitments, including quarterly reporting on remaining commitments
• Monitor the quarterly calculation of management fees and the allocation of transaction fees
• Review transactions in Investran, including cash, new investments, sales, capital calls and distributions
• Review monthly and quarterly account analyses and reconciliations
• Support the accounting team in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements and support external audit
• Act as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
• Take part in initiatives to simplify processes and improve efficiency in accounting, controlling, reporting and financial processes, and handle ad hoc projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Banking & Finance or Accounting
• CPA certification
• Solid experience in private market funds or fund accounting
• Professional experience with a fund manager or in asset management at a bank or Big Four firm, with a focus on fund auditing
• Analytical, detail-oriented, self-starting and very organised, able to manage several priorities on time
• Good organisational, communication and social skills, with German (C2) and English
