Senior Cost Consultant – Pharmaceutical Projects

About the role

Mace is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Consultant to join a collaborative team supporting leading pharmaceutical clients in Switzerland. You will manage cost‑related activities from feasibility studies through contract close‑out, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance and operational excellence across complex, regulated projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies, advise on procurement strategies and contract selection, and produce procurement reports.
• Apply value‑management techniques early in projects and develop comprehensive cost plans.
• Oversee the full procurement cycle, including pre‑qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation.
• Prepare and manage contract documents, warranties, bonds and licences, and advise on contract administration.
• Control and report on costs throughout the contract, producing monthly post‑contract cost reports for clients.
• Identify and quantify cost impacts of design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges.
• Evaluate contractor claims for delay and additional costs, and manage the issuance of certificates of practical completion and final accounts.
• Manage and mentor a team of Cost Consultants, driving improvements in systems, processes and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost management for construction or engineering projects, preferably within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Strong understanding of procurement, contract administration and value‑management principles.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and provide coaching and performance management.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and internal stakeholders.
