Senior DeFi Engineer

About the role

Nexus Mutual is building a decentralized alternative to traditional insurance. We are seeking a Senior DeFi Engineer to design and implement the next generation of on‑chain risk, capital, staking, and coverage infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Solidity smart contracts that power risk, capital allocation, staking, and coverage mechanisms.
• Build and integrate DeFi primitives such as AMMs, DEXs, lending protocols, liquidity venues, and oracles.
• Collaborate with protocol, product, and research teams to translate complex financial models into secure on‑chain systems.
• Analyze existing DeFi protocols to identify integration opportunities and novel design patterns.
• Implement gas‑efficient, composable contracts and comprehensive testing, simulation, and monitoring tooling.
• Participate in security reviews, identify economic and smart‑contract risks, and contribute to protocol upgrades.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production‑grade DeFi or blockchain systems.
• Deep understanding of DeFi primitives, token economics, on‑chain governance, and capital allocation mechanisms.
• Proven ability to reason about financial mechanisms and translate them into precise protocol specifications.

Required skills

• Solidity development and EVM expertise.
• Smart‑contract security and common attack‑vector mitigation.
• Gas optimization and transaction‑level performance tuning.
• Testing frameworks, simulation tools, and quantitative analysis of protocol behavior.
• Experience with on‑chain data analysis and integration of external DeFi services.
