Senior Delivery Solutions Architect

About the role

Databricks is looking for a Senior Delivery Solutions Architect in Zurich to partner with Sales, Solutions Architecture and Field Engineering on its most complex customers. The role serves as a senior technical advisor who helps customers design, implement, scale and optimise complex data and AI solutions across business units, geographies and product areas. It is a highly technical, strategic customer-facing position.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical execution strategy for high-value, complex accounts spanning multiple use cases, business units, geographies or product areas
• Serve as a senior technical advisor to customer architects, technical leaders and Director/VP-level stakeholders
• Design and influence secure, governed, scalable architectures while balancing performance, cost, reliability and long-term platform strategy
• Orchestrate Databricks, customer and implementation partner teams to align technical execution and accelerate outcomes
• Anticipate platform maturity and scaling needs and set technical standards for security, governance, developer experience and operational excellence
• Lead complex technical escalations and build reusable technical frameworks, solutions and assets that scale across customers, teams or regions
• Mentor DSAs and contribute to technical enablement and thought leadership

Required profile

• 8+ years in solutions architecture, technical consulting, professional services, data engineering or a related senior technical role
• Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for high-value or highly complex customer environments
• Experience across multiple business units, product areas, geographies or technical workstreams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

Required skills

• Deep expertise in one or more data and AI domains, with strong knowledge of distributed data systems and cloud architectures
• Strong coding in Python, SQL, Scala or similar languages
• Experience designing secure, governed, scalable, production-ready architectures in cloud and enterprise environments
• Ability to influence senior technical and executive stakeholders and to de-escalate complex customer situations
• Nice to have: Databricks experience or certification, external technical thought leadership, mentoring experience
