Senior Digital & Automation Engineering Specialist (DMO/MES)

About the role

As a Senior Digital and Automation Engineering Specialist (DMO/MES) you will lead the development and global rollout of digital manufacturing and automation solutions for Nestlé Nutrition & Health. You will work from the R&D centre in Konolfingen, collaborating with factories, engineering, quality, operations and technology partners to drive performance improvements across the manufacturing network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, technical support and worldwide deployment of digital manufacturing and automation solutions that boost reliability and efficiency.
• Standardise and continuously improve Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), operational technology and automation across Nutrition & Health sites.
• Partner with factories, project teams and technology suppliers to turn emerging digital technologies into scalable business value.
• Provide expert guidance for investment projects from design through commissioning, qualification, validation and hand‑over to operations.
• Enable secure, reliable and actionable manufacturing data through data‑integration and engineering initiatives supporting digital transformation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering with a strong background in digital technologies.
• Proven experience in digital manufacturing, AI, robotics, MES and automation within the food or dairy industry.
• Solid knowledge of process mastery applications, control‑system platforms (Rockwell, Wonderware, AVEVA) and process‑simulation tools.
• Professional proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
