Senior Director Strategy

About the role

The Senior Director, Corporate Strategy will support the definition and execution of Lonza’s business platform and corporate strategy. Acting as a strategic sparring partner, you will provide data‑driven insights and recommendations to senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and execution of business platform and corporate strategies, ensuring alignment with growth ambitions.
• Conduct industry research, trend analysis, scenario planning and prepare decision‑making materials for senior leadership.
• Analyse market dynamics, innovation trends and competitive positioning to advise strategy.
• Develop financial models, business cases and investment assessments for corporate and platform decisions.
• Identify and assess M&A, partnership and investment opportunities, providing analytical support for due diligence.
• Engage with cross‑functional teams and prepare high‑quality strategic presentations for senior leadership and board discussions.

Required profile

• Many years of experience in corporate strategy, business development, investment banking or management consulting, preferably in pharma, biotech, CDMO or life sciences.
• Strong analytical background with proven ability to analyse complex business problems and present clear recommendations.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with experience engaging senior leaders.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
