Senior Electronic Board Layout Designer

About the role

Expleo, a global engineering, technology and consulting partner, is looking for a Senior Electronic Board Layout Designer to strengthen its product development activities for advanced communication and embedded systems. You will own the full PCB layout cycle for complex, high-reliability multi-layer boards, turning electrical, RF and mechanical requirements into production-ready designs and releasing complete manufacturing packages in close collaboration with cross-functional teams in Lausanne.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end PCB layout, from requirements and constraints through placement, routing, checks, documentation and manufacturing release.
• Design complex multilayer PCBs (10-20+ layers) including high-speed interfaces (Ethernet/DDR), FPGA-centric subsystems, mixed-signal, power distribution and RF sections where applicable.
• Apply SI/PI and EMC best practices: controlled impedance, differential pairs, return paths, length matching, crosstalk mitigation and decoupling.
• Work hands-on in Altium Designer / Altium 365, using hierarchical design, rooms/replication, templates and robust library management.
• Generate and release complete PCB/PCBA manufacturing data via PLM, and drive DFM/DFA/DFT with fabrication and EMS partners.
• Collaborate with HW, RF, Mechanical (SolidWorks) and Embedded teams, supporting prototypes, root-cause analysis and ECN/PCN updates.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience designing complex, multi-layer PCBs (12+ layers) in highly regulated or demanding environments such as aerospace, medical, automotive or industrial electronics.
• Clear, concise communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to work at least 3 days per week onsite in Lausanne.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency with Altium Designer/Altium 365, including hierarchical design, room-based replication and advanced layout workflows.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces, FPGA placement and routing, mixed-signal constraints and low-noise board design.
• Strong understanding of DFM, DFA and DFT principles, plus solid library management and knowledge of PCB stack-ups, controlled impedance routing and signal integrity fundamentals.
• Desired: familiarity with simulation tools such as Ansys SIwave and LTspice, experience with RF engineers on 20-30 GHz systems, and prior work with embedded software or programmable logic engineers.
