Senior Experimental Physicist – Space Research Technology

About the role

INAUTALENT, supporting the International Space Federation, seeks a senior experimental physicist to lead hands‑on research in a cutting‑edge laboratory focused on gravity‑control propulsion and quantum‑vacuum energy technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate experimental setups including analog resonant electronic circuits, RF resonant LCR systems, spinning cold plasma configurations and rotating magnet‑coil energy‑harvesting devices.
• Perform precise electrical, electronic and electromagnetic measurements using oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, LCR meters and power meters.
• Collect, process and interpret data, identify unexpected phenomena and iteratively refine experiments.
• Maintain a safe, organized, well‑documented laboratory environment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with engineers and junior researchers, providing technical guidance and fostering interdisciplinary work.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 7+ years of hands‑on experimental laboratory experience.
• Fluency in English; French is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously in a small, collaborative research team.

Required skills

• Analog resonant circuit design (e.g., Joule‑Thief architectures).
• RF/LCR resonant system measurement and analysis.
• Cold plasma generation and electromagnetic field interaction.
• Use of laboratory instrumentation: oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, LCR meters, power meters.
• Data acquisition and analysis with MATLAB, Python (NumPy/SciPy) or LabVIEW.
