Senior Finance Manager – Finance Transformation

About the role

An established Swiss industrial business with international operations is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to help develop and modernise its finance function. The role combines group accounting and consolidation with financial controlling, systems development and finance transformation, working closely with an experienced, hands-on CFO. It is based in St. Gallen with a hybrid model of three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of group accounting, consolidation and financial reporting, including valuation, currency translation and intercompany matters
• Support, coordinate and develop the accounting team, giving technical guidance where needed
• Ensure robust accounting, reconciliation, reporting and month-end closing processes
• Drive digitalisation and automation, and eliminate unnecessary manual and paper-based processes
• Improve finance systems, reporting tools, processes and data quality
• Work with the CFO on management reporting that includes financial and operational KPIs, and support the data warehouse
• Identify and implement practical applications of AI and automation in accounting and finance
• Work with external tax and accounting advisers and partner with procurement and production to make financial information more useful for decisions

Required profile

• Strong understanding of group accounting and consolidation, with a solid foundation in accounting, financial controlling or financial reporting
• Background in group accounting, financial controlling, consolidation, audit or finance management, preferably in an international or multi-entity organisation; previous head of accounting experience is not essential
• Genuine interest in systems, technology, AI and automation, and a proactive, hands-on approach
• Comfortable working with both financial and operational data and in evolving processes

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems, finance systems, BI/reporting tools, process automation, data warehouses or finance transformation is particularly valuable
