Senior Full-Stack Developer (Python/Django)

About the role

We are looking for a senior full‑stack developer to join a Swiss‑based engineering team that builds scalable digital products and high‑performance services for international users. The role offers full ownership of both backend and frontend development, allowing you to design reliable systems, APIs and internal tools while influencing architectural decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain new services using Python and Django.
• Build and improve APIs, backend services and scalable systems supporting business‑critical workflows.
• Create internal tools that increase operational efficiency and enhance existing processes.
• Contribute to server‑side development, web interfaces and user‑facing improvements.
• Apply best practices in software architecture, testing and development workflows.
• Optimize database performance, complex queries and data handling for large‑scale datasets.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design technical solutions, troubleshoot issues and improve system reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, testing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor teammates, share technical knowledge and help raise engineering standards.
• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to modular system design.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience with Python in production.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience using the Django framework.
• Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including query optimisation.
• Practical experience with containerisation tools like Docker and docker‑compose.
• Experience with queues, asynchronous processing and multithreading concepts.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming and software architecture patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Domain‑Driven Design (DDD).
• Good grasp of client‑server architecture, HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs and web fundamentals.
• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and browser developer tools.
