Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join a leading global commodities trading firm. The role offers exposure to complex trading activities across front, middle and back‑office functions while supporting best‑in‑class governance, risk management and control frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver risk‑based internal audits across trading, risk management, operations and support functions.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes and risk‑management frameworks.
• Review front‑, middle‑ and back‑office trading activities to identify key risks and control gaps.
• Perform audit testing, transactional reviews and data‑analytics to support audit conclusions.
• Prepare clear and insightful audit reports for senior management and key stakeholders.
• Track and validate the implementation of agreed audit actions.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across global trading offices.
• Support continuous enhancement of audit methodologies, tools and analytics capabilities.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.

Required profile

• 10+ years of internal or external audit experience.
• Strong experience within a commodities trading, energy or trading environment.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CPA or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of commodity trading, trading risks, internal controls and audit frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25% travel).
