Senior International Tax Manager – European Markets (7‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior International Tax Manager to lead tax matters across European markets for a global, research‑driven healthcare company. This 7‑month mission involves advising multiple business functions on tax implications, managing relationships with tax authorities, and ensuring compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary tax contact for assigned countries, advising finance, legal, supply chain, HR and other stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with local tax authorities and maintain professional communication.
• Oversee corporate income tax compliance and lead tax audit defence, coordinating with shared service teams and external advisors.
• Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks across the region.
• Lead and coordinate tax audits, handling data requests and aligning with global tax teams on defence strategies.
• Monitor and improve processes for indirect taxes, withholding taxes and other local taxes.
• Track legislative changes and evaluate business impact.
• Coordinate transfer‑pricing documentation and adjustments with the TP team.
• Review contracts and business initiatives from a tax perspective.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in corporate and international tax.
• Ability to analyse complex issues and provide clear, practical recommendations.
• Confident communicator capable of influencing stakeholders across regions and functions.
• Experience managing tax compliance, audits and external advisors.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field; tax specialization preferred.
• Relevant tax experience, ideally within pharma or a Big 4 environment.
• Solid understanding of regional tax frameworks, including Eastern Europe.
