Senior IT Infrastructure & Security Engineer

About the role

Our client, a global provider of real‑time testing hardware and software, is seeking a hands‑on Senior IT Infrastructure & Security Engineer. You will join a small, experienced Corporate IT team and act as the primary technical contributor for day‑to‑day platform reliability and future architectural direction.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a hybrid Azure cloud environment, including Azure Local HCI, Azure Virtual Desktop, storage, databases, and backup solutions (Azure and Veeam).
• Manage identity and access using Microsoft Entra ID, applying Zero Trust principles and automated Joiner/Mover/Leaver workflows.
• Lead security tooling such as Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel: tune policies, manage attack surface reduction, triage alerts, onboard log sources, and improve Secure Score.
• Act as the execution lead for incident response, handling containment, investigation, recovery coordination, and post‑incident reviews.
• Ensure backup readiness, immutable protection, and tested recovery procedures across the organization.
• Contribute to network design and operations across global sites, covering segmentation, remote access, firewalls, and perimeter services.

Required profile

• Degree, Swiss apprenticeship, professional diploma, or equivalent experience in IT infrastructure.
• Proven hands‑on experience with Azure cloud services and Microsoft security platforms.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust, identity governance, and backup & disaster‑recovery best practices.
