Senior IT Solutions Architect – Digital Payments

About the role

Viseca Card Services is strengthening its Enterprise Architecture & IT Solution Design team in Zurich and is looking for a highly qualified Senior Solution Architect to join immediately or as agreed. You will work with expert architects, internal specialists, product and engineering teams and partner banks to design, build and improve cashless payment products, and play a key role in modernizing the core payment processing and risk management platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a key architectural driver for evolving legacy systems into next-generation platforms, working with engineering teams and peer architects in Zurich and Bioggio TI.
• Align technical platform strategies with the target operating model and guide the organization through complex IT transformations.
• Serve as a domain expert defining integration strategies for high-volume payment processing ecosystems.
• Integrate risk management and fraud detection solutions into the payment ecosystem.
• Modernize applications using event-driven architectures, event streaming and event sourcing.
• Work with security teams on STRIDE-LM threat modeling, continuous compliance (FINMA, PCI DSS) and Zero Trust architecture.
• Participate in enterprise architecture governance and automation, documenting applications, data flows and interfaces with tools such as LeanIX.

Required profile

• University degree (ETH, Uni, FH) in computer science or a related field.
• Several years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, designing and uncoupling large-scale distributed systems and integrating third-party platforms.
• Knowledge of financial services infrastructure, transactional platforms and payment processing workflows; cashless payment standards (EMV, ep2) are a strong advantage.
• Strong communicator in English and German, able to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences; Italian is a plus.

Required skills

• Domain-driven design and microservices architecture
• API design (REST, OpenAPI, gRPC) and event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka)
• Cloud platforms (Azure, GCP or AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); hybrid environments are a significant advantage
• Zero Trust principles, threat modeling and SDLC compliance
