Senior Legal Counsel – Financial Services (Switzerland)

About the role

The organisation is a regulated financial services provider operating in Switzerland. As Senior Legal Counsel you will act as the principal legal advisor to senior stakeholders, shaping regulatory, commercial and product strategies in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory advice to senior stakeholders and business units.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and documentation.
• Lead legal input on regulatory, corporate and product‑related initiatives.
• Support the structuring and implementation of new products and services.
• Maintain internal policies, standard documentation and contractual frameworks.
• Monitor Swiss and international regulatory developments and support their implementation.
• Prepare legal analysis and briefings for senior management.
• Deliver internal training on legal and regulatory topics.
• Collaborate closely with Compliance on cross‑border and complex regulatory issues.
• Support external counsel, regulators, auditors and other stakeholders as required.

Required profile

• Swiss Master of Law (or equivalent Swiss qualification) and admission to the Swiss Bar.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm, financial institution or consultancy.
• Strong background in banking or financial services regulation.
• Experience with financial products, structuring and documentation is desirable.
• Interest in innovation within financial services.
• Excellent analytical, drafting and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Commercial, pragmatic and hands‑on approach.
