Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Cockpit

About the role

AYES, a Switzerland-based engineering and technology consulting company active in automotive, aerospace, space and defense, railway, energy and life sciences, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for aircraft cockpit structures and components. The position is based in Lucerne, Switzerland, on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs for aircraft cockpit structures and components.
• Design metallic parts with a focus on Design for Manufacturing (DfM).
• Support the complete product development lifecycle, from design through industrialization.
• Take part in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
• Produce and maintain high-quality 3D models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Work closely with stress, manufacturing, certification and systems engineering teams to deliver compliant and manufacturable designs.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aeronautics industry.
• Proven experience in detailed design, DfM, PDR and CDR activities.
• Strong experience designing primary and secondary aircraft structures.
• Solid knowledge of metallic structures and materials.
• Extensive experience designing cockpit structures and cockpit system installations.
• Fluent English.
