Senior Network & Security Engineer (Check Point Specialist)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Network & Security Engineer to act as the primary subject‑matter expert for our network security posture. The role involves designing, implementing and continuously optimizing enterprise‑grade Check Point firewalls and core network infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and maintain high‑availability Check Point firewall architectures across the enterprise.
• Serve as the highest escalation point for complex network and security incidents, performing deep‑packet analysis and performance tuning.
• Implement advanced Check Point features such as Threat Prevention, Application Control, URL Filtering, IPS and SandBlast.
• Manage core routing and switching technologies (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VXLAN) to ensure secure connectivity.
• Conduct regular firewall audits, optimise policy rule bases and ensure compliance with global security standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional IT teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on enterprise network engineering and security administration experience.
• Active Check Point Certified Security Master (CCSM) or CCSM Elite certification – mandatory.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to work onsite in Bioggio, Switzerland, with a valid Swiss work permit.

Required skills

• Check Point Architecture, Gaia OS, Management Server (MDM), VSX, ClusterXL, Maestro Orchestration.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VXLAN, IPsec and SSL VPN technologies.
• Experience with Threat Prevention, Application Control, URL Filtering, IPS and SandBlast (Threat Emulation).
• Additional certifications such as CCIE, CCNP or CISSP are highly valued.
