Senior Patent Counsel – Chemistry

About the role

The Senior Patent Counsel will partner with the Research & Innovation team to identify, protect and commercialise chemical inventions. This hands‑on role ensures that patent strategy aligns with business objectives and supports global product development.

Key responsibilities

• Harvest and capture innovations from the R&I team, proactively identifying patentable inventions.
• Draft, file and prosecute patent applications worldwide, including handling oppositions and appeals.
• Provide patent support to multidisciplinary projects and advise on freedom‑to‑operate, risk management and infringement matters.
• Draft IP clauses in agreements with collaborators and service providers.

Required profile

• PhD (preferred) or Master’s degree in chemistry.
• Qualified European Patent Attorney with at least 3 years of drafting and prosecution experience after EPA qualification.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work cross‑functionally and promote a patent‑aware culture.
• Fluent in English; French is a strong asset.
