Senior Project Engineer – Pharmaceutical Site Master Plan

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of a high‑impact pharmaceutical facility as part of a Site Master Plan in Switzerland. The role will oversee the full project lifecycle—from planning and design through construction, commissioning, qualification and hand‑over—working closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure schedule, budget and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large‑scale capital projects from concept to commissioning and hand‑over.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering strategies to meet schedule, budget, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Act as senior technical authority, reviewing and approving design changes and technical submittals.
• Manage multimillion‑dollar budgets, monitor costs and support contractor selection and evaluation.
• Develop project schedules, identify critical path items and implement risk mitigation plans.
• Provide on‑site engineering oversight during construction and commissioning, ensuring design intent and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and prepare executive‑level status updates and technical summaries.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management (Master’s preferred).
• Proven experience leading capital projects in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medical devices.
• Strong technical judgment, problem‑solving ability and experience managing budgets, schedules and contractor relationships.
• Familiarity with regulatory expectations for pharmaceutical facilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for interaction with cross‑functional and executive teams.
• Fluent English; German language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%).
