Senior QA Engineer (Web) - Remote

About the role

A partner company, which manages all applications and next steps, is looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Web) to work remotely in Switzerland. The role ensures the quality, reliability and performance of modern web applications across the development lifecycle, with roughly equal time spent on manual testing and test automation. It suits a detail-oriented QA professional who works autonomously and contributes to internationally distributed product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end quality assurance from technical hand-off through to production release, balancing about 50% manual and 50% automated testing.
• Review specifications, prepare test plans and write comprehensive test cases and checklists.
• Estimate testing effort, prioritize tasks and meet agreed deadlines.
• Perform functional, exploratory, regression, UI/UX, cross-browser, responsive, end-to-end and API testing.
• Write, maintain and improve automated tests in Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Document test activities, take part in peer reviews and review test code.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Front-End and Back-End Engineers and Architects.
• Support production releases with build validation, smoke and regression tests, and monitor live errors and performance.
• Track and improve metrics such as escaped defect rate and test coverage.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in QA, practical web testing experience and ability to write reliable automated tests independently.
• Fluency in Russian and good English; the role is remote and based in Switzerland.
• Experience with products involving feeds, chats, subscriptions, dating, streaming or other media and social features is an advantage.

Required skills

• QA methodologies, test design and end-to-end testing.
• HTTP/HTTPS, REST, DOM, cookies, caching and local storage.
• Cross-browser and responsive testing on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and mobile viewports.
• Browser DevTools and debugging proxies such as Proxyman, Charles or Fiddler.
• API testing with Postman (REST and GraphQL).
• Jira, Git and Allure TestOps or similar test management tools.
• Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript automation.
