Senior Rail Signalling Engineer

About the role

Stadler Signalling is looking for a Senior Rail Signalling Engineer in Wallisellen, Switzerland, on a part-time basis. The role centres on developing safety-critical vehicle and track-side software for railway signalling products, including the NOVA Pro CBTC system, and supporting product assessments and approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop safety-critical vehicle and track-side software in line with EN 50126, 50128, 50716 and 50129
• Implement new features in signalling products, with a focus on the NOVA Pro CBTC system
• Develop vehicle software for automated, driverless operation
• Support assessments and state-specific approvals
• Prepare and maintain requirement specifications and architecture and design documents for validation and assessment
• Implement code according to software component design
• Carry out integration tests of subsystems after software release

Required profile

• Knowledge of railway signalling principles and practices (mainline interlocking and/or CBTC), with a minimum of 10 years of experience
• Good communication skills and ability to work harmoniously in a team
• Ability to analyse and solve problems and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Railway standards such as EN 50126, 50129, 50128, 50716, TS 50701, ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and IEC 61131-3
• Requirement management with IBM DOORS Next Generation
• Software development life cycle principles
• Functional programming with FBD and/or ST; high-level languages such as C/C++ or Python are a plus
• Version control tools such as Git and SVN
