Senior Researcher – Philosophy of Language & Mind

About the role

We are a stealth‑stage AI company at the frontier of machine reasoning, seeking an exceptional philosopher to lead research on meaning, reference, and representation. The position is based in Geneva and offers a permanent CDI contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct original research in philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, and the metaphysics of meaning.
• Act as the primary intellectual bridge between pure mathematics, philosophy, and software engineering.
• Organise and participate in high‑level cross‑disciplinary seminars and working groups with internationally distinguished researchers.
• Advise on the conceptual foundations of AI models, machine reasoning, and artificial cognition.
• Review, edit, and prepare academic work for publication with major presses.
• Shape the research agenda on representation, meaning, and artificial cognition.
• Engage with foundational questions in the philosophy of mathematics, including the role of infinity.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Philosophy (specialising in language, mind, or related fields) from a leading university.
• At least 20 years of research experience at the full‑professor level.
• Strong publication record with major academic presses (e.g., OUP, CUP).
• Deep expertise in reference theory, semantics, and the metaphysics of meaning.
• Fluent English; French strongly preferred.
