Senior Scala Software Engineer

About the role

OneDoc is looking for a Senior Scala Software Engineer to design, build and evolve high‑performance backend services for Switzerland’s leading healthcare platform. You will own the quality and architecture of critical systems while mentoring a talented engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable backend services in Scala 3.
• Write clean, well‑structured code, conduct code reviews and ensure long‑term consistency.
• Mentor junior engineers, contribute to hiring and foster a culture of learning.
• Collaborate with product, design and leadership to translate complex requirements into production‑ready solutions.
• Introduce tools and processes that improve reliability and developer experience.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Fluent in Scala and experienced with RESTful API development.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, transactions, indexes and SQL.
• Proficiency in English; French or German is a plus.
