Senior Software Engineer (MTS)

About the role

Join clera’s Engineering team to build applications and backend services that enable researchers and domain experts to create, review, and analyse research data. You will work on core research workflows, from task management and file inspection to monitoring agent activity and comparing experiments.

Key responsibilities

• Build user interfaces for creating tasks, reviewing files and video, inspecting agent actions, and comparing experimental results.
• Design APIs and PostgreSQL data models for tasks, reviews, files, and experiments.
• Connect applications to data pipelines and file storage, adding validation, permission controls, and clear error handling.
• Collaborate with researchers to improve workflows, investigate bugs, and maintain performance as datasets grow.
• Test, debug, and iterate software based on user feedback.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience building and maintaining applications used by others.
• Strong TypeScript and React skills, or Python experience with a backend framework such as FastAPI.
• Experience designing APIs and working with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Practical approach to testing, debugging, and collaborating with users and teammates.
• Familiarity with AWS, object storage (S3), background job processing, or frontend testing frameworks is a plus.
