Senior Tax Specialist (Direct & Indirect Taxes, Multi‑Jurisdiction)

About the role

Proton is looking for a Senior Tax Specialist to design and operate a world‑class tax framework that supports its rapid international growth as a SaaS scale‑up. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will act as a strategic partner, ensuring compliance while enabling market expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a global tax structure covering direct, indirect, payroll, and equity compensation taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead transfer‑pricing design, VAT/sales‑tax automation, payroll tax controls, and stock‑option reporting initiatives.
• Embed robust risk‑management processes and tax‑technology solutions.
• Serve as trusted advisor to leadership and cross‑functional teams, translating complex regulations into actionable guidance.
• Monitor regulatory changes, lead tax audits, and support market‑entry and product‑launch strategies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in multi‑jurisdiction tax compliance for a fast‑growing technology company.
• Deep knowledge of direct, indirect, payroll, and equity‑compensation tax matters.
• Proven ability to design tax frameworks, manage transfer‑pricing projects, and automate VAT processes.
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to regulatory change.
• Excellent communication skills for advising senior leadership.
