Service Technician (80-100%)

About the role

ABB is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join its Schaffhausen team, supporting highly automated production equipment in a modern manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and servicing of production equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams, Production Engineering, and external service providers to ensure smooth operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Management activities.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training as an Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Production Technician or Electrician, or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong teamwork, communication skills and a proactive, independent working style.
• Willingness to work three‑shift operation with on‑call duty after onboarding.

Required skills

• Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
• Preventive maintenance of automated production equipment.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
• German language proficiency (written and spoken); English is a plus.
• NIV13 or NIV15 electrical installation certification (or willingness to obtain with ABB support).
