Site Manager – Industrial Operations

About the role

Novelis Switzerland is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead its industrial plant in Sierre. You will be responsible for overall site performance, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are met while driving continuous improvement and long‑term competitiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production, engineering and operational excellence functions to achieve KPIs (safety, quality, cost, productivity, delivery).
• Ensure strict compliance with Swiss labour law, EHS standards and company policies, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Drive Lean‑based continuous improvement, optimise processes, productivity and cost efficiency.
• Define and implement site strategy, lead investment projects and technology upgrades.
• Manage the site budget, performance targets and ensure sustainable profitability.
• Develop and lead a workforce of ~200 employees, building a high‑performance culture.
• Collaborate with matrix functions (Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, HR, Finance) and represent the site internally and externally.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven leadership experience in industrial production environments.
• Strong track record in operations management, continuous improvement and financial accountability.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation.
• Fluent in French and English; German is a strong asset.
