Site Reliability Engineer – Zurich

About the role

Our client, a leading proprietary trading firm, is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join its Zurich office. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving a high‑performance, low‑latency trading platform, ensuring maximum uptime and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own availability, stability and performance of Linux‑based trading systems (RedHat, Rocky, Ubuntu).
• Lead incident response, on‑call duties and conduct blameless post‑mortems.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation and production support standards.
• Collaborate with developers and traders to design and deploy reliable, high‑performance systems.
• Perform low‑level tuning of CPU, IRQ, memory and networking for latency‑sensitive workloads.
• Diagnose performance issues using perf, ftrace, tcpdump and eBPF.
• Implement infrastructure as code using Ansible, Terraform, Python and shell scripts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in site reliability, Linux engineering or DevOps roles supporting high‑availability, performance‑critical environments.
• Deep understanding of Linux internals, scheduling, memory management, interrupts and storage.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, multicast and distributed networking.
• Automation‑first mindset with hands‑on experience in containerisation.
