Software Engineer – Chromium Browser (Geneva/Zürich)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our browser product team in Geneva. You will help build a privacy‑first internet browser used by millions, delivering secure, fast, and distraction‑free browsing on desktop platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and ship features for a Chromium‑based browser, including privacy and security hardening.
• Maintain and improve the browser’s core components such as Blink, V8, the network stack and sandboxing.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and senior engineers to deliver high‑quality user experiences.
• Manage cross‑platform builds for macOS, Windows and Linux and ensure timely security updates.
• Contribute to open‑source components and help define best practices for privacy‑focused consumer products.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building or maintaining a Chromium‑based browser or similar large‑scale browser engineering.
• Proficiency in C++ and comfort navigating large codebases.
• Familiarity with Chromium’s build system and cross‑platform development (macOS, Windows, Linux).
• Experience implementing privacy or security measures such as anti‑fingerprinting, content blocking, or telemetry reduction.
• Strong focus on product quality, performance and user experience.
• Ability to work autonomously in a small, high‑ownership team; open‑source contributions are a plus.
• Rust experience is a plus.
