Software Engineer – Data Engineering & DevSecOps (Switzerland)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a strong background in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps. The role involves building and optimizing scalable data platforms and distributed query systems for enterprise‑grade operations within a fast‑paced, cloud‑native environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure data engineering and DevSecOps solutions.
• Support and optimise distributed query engines such as Starburst Enterprise, Trino, or Presto.
• Develop infrastructure‑as‑code automation and deployment workflows.
• Manage Kubernetes‑based containerised environments and cloud‑native systems on AWS or Azure.
• Write advanced Linux scripts and perform system administration on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Implement data governance, access controls, and security best practices at scale.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and application performance issues.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering and/or DevSecOps.
• Hands‑on experience with Starburst Enterprise, Trino, or Presto.
• Strong Linux scripting and system administration skills.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and automation tools such as Ansible.
• Familiarity with data table formats like Iceberg or Hive.
