Software Engineer II – Full Stack (Core Team)

About the role

Google’s Core team is seeking a Software Engineer II to work on full‑stack development of investigation tools and platform components. You will contribute to building UI components, web services, and supporting security automation across Google’s flagship products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain UI components and web services for investigation tools.
• Support maintenance and operation of existing tooling.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to triage and resolve platform bugs.
• Collaborate with security teams to build capabilities and interfaces for security operations and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• At least 1 year of full‑stack development experience, including back‑end work (Java, Python, Go, C++) and front‑end work (JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
• Experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Track record of documenting work and providing constructive feedback in code reviews.
• Strong proficiency in front‑end technologies, especially TypeScript.
