Staff Frontend Engineer – Hybrid (80-100%) – Zurich

About the role

SMG Swiss Marketplace Group is looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to lead the technical direction of its Real Estate portals. You will work in a hybrid model, balancing hands‑on coding with strategic leadership across multiple product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive frontend architecture across several teams, aligning engineers, product managers, designers and senior stakeholders.
• Influence roadmaps, investment decisions and engineering priorities by linking frontend strategy to business outcomes.
• Design and maintain shared frontend libraries, components and tooling such as design systems and performance monitoring solutions.
• Lead large‑scale refactors and migrations, including framework upgrades and cross‑product harmonisation.
• Mentor and coach engineers through pairing, structured mentorship and training sessions.
• Represent frontend engineering in cross‑functional and leadership discussions, advocating for long‑term technical trade‑offs.
