Student Software Engineer – Mobile AI

About the role

Eleva is an AI‑powered mental wellbeing startup building a personalised mobile companion. We are looking for an ambitious engineering student or recent graduate to join us as a Student Software Engineer (Mobile AI) and help bring our MVP to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Eleva's cross‑platform mobile application.
• Build scalable frontend and backend features and integrate them with cloud services.
• Incorporate AI capabilities and large language models (LLMs) into the product.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs, authentication, databases and secure data management.
• Collaborate with the CEO, Clinical Lead and design team to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, performance optimisation and reliability improvements.
• Test, debug, and continuously improve code quality throughout the MVP development cycle.

Required profile

• Current master’s student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in mobile development, AI integration and startup environments.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of tasks and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Mobile development: Flutter, React Native, native iOS/Android.
• Frontend and backend development, REST APIs.
• Cloud platforms: Firebase, Supabase, AWS (or similar).
• SQL or NoSQL databases, authentication and user‑management.
• Version control with Git.
• Programming languages: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript.
• AI/ML basics: LLM integration, prompt engineering, machine‑learning fundamentals.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Replit, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT).
