Supply Officer – Procurement & Logistics (UN)

About the role

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is seeking a Supply Officer to support its global procurement, logistics and property management functions from its Geneva headquarters. Reporting to the Head of the Procurement, Logistics, and Global Support Unit, the incumbent will ensure efficient acquisition, tracking, and disposal of supplies, equipment and services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and monitor guidance, procedures and workflows for global support services.
• Prepare forecasts, analyses and reports on machinery, equipment, tools, materials, services and utilities.
• Design and maintain software tools for tracking, reconciliation and costing of assets.
• Initiate procurement actions, maintenance, write‑off and disposal of items.
• Conduct market research and adapt best practices to UN requirements.
• Perform technical surveys and plan efficient resource use, including redeployment of surplus assets.
• Ensure accurate accounting, reporting and internal controls across functional areas.
• Prepare and submit reports to the PLU and monitor third‑party procurement status.
• Review, prepare and defend write‑off and disposal cases.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and analyse data to identify trends for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in supply chain, logistics or property management.
• Demonstrated experience in UN or international organization procurement processes.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience preparing reports and forecasts.
• Ability to conduct market research and apply best‑practice standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
