Description du poste
About the role
The System Architect with focus on APNT and defense plays a leading technical role in developing advanced positioning solutions. You derive system architectures and technical solution concepts from stakeholder and product requirements, define system structures, interfaces and requirements, and work with component architects to ensure a coherent overall architecture. You report to the director of platform system architecture.
Key responsibilities
- Derive system requirements from stakeholder and product requirements and lead the creation, evaluation and maintenance of technical solution concepts and system architectures.
- Define system-level requirements, interfaces and performance budgets, and conduct trade-off analyses and feasibility assessments.
- Align architectural decisions with stakeholders and development teams, and guide component architects to ensure architectural consistency.
- Support implementation, integration, verification and validation, identify technical risks and maintain architecture documentation.
- Define platform-level resilience requirements covering anti-jamming, anti-spoofing, signal authentication, APNT, sensor fusion and interference mitigation, and act as the main technical interface for resilience topics with product teams, strategists and key customers.
- Translate customer needs, operational use cases and market trends into platform capabilities, and evaluate emerging technologies in GNSS resilience, APNT, CRPA, sensor fusion and navigation warfare.
- Contribute to long-term resilience and APNT roadmaps, monitor defense requirements and market trends, and support strategic partnerships with technology providers, research institutions and defense organizations.
- Support systems engineering processes, methods and tools, innovation initiatives and feasibility studies.
Required profile
- Master's degree, PhD or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Geodesy or a related field.
- Experience with defense, public safety, critical infrastructure or other mission-critical applications is an advantage.
- Ability to translate operational needs into platform architectures and roadmaps; knowledge of military navigation concepts and electronic warfare impacts on GNSS is an advantage.
- Fluent English, written and spoken; German is an advantage.
- Willingness for occasional travel.
Required skills
- Strong and broad GNSS knowledge, including GNSS resilience technologies (anti-jamming, anti-spoofing, interference detection, signal authentication).
- APNT concepts, multi-sensor positioning, sensor fusion, inertial navigation or alternative navigation technologies.
- Systems engineering and architecture methodologies, requirements engineering and technical specifications.
- Antenna technologies, adaptive antenna systems and CRPA concepts.
- Advantageous: model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
What we offer
