About the role
As a Talent Acquisition Officer you will join CERN's Talent Acquisition team to attract and recruit talent for the organisation. You will gain hands‑on experience in sourcing, recruitment and employer branding while contributing to CERN's mission.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: CV screening, candidate communication, interview coordination and contract administration.
- Proactively engage potential candidates via online platforms, professional networks and databases, with a focus on under‑represented groups such as women in STEM.
- Promote CERN’s employer brand across social media, job boards and career fairs.
- Generate reports and analyse recruitment data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Basic knowledge of recruitment and sourcing principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with content creation and social media tools is an asset.
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
- Proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and support team objectives.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; commitment to learn French.
- Maximum two years of professional experience since graduation, holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
- No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract, and no PhD.

What we offer
- Monthly stipend of 5,266–5,793 CHF (tax‑free) for the duration of the contract.
- 30 days of paid leave per year plus a two‑week annual closure.
