Team Lead, Engineering – Customer Sandbox

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to drive the development of scalable sandbox and orchestration solutions within a fast‑growing, globally distributed technology environment. You will lead a cross‑functional team while staying hands‑on with technical development and architectural decisions, ensuring secure and efficient systems for isolated production‑grade data environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a cross‑functional engineering team, balancing people leadership with hands‑on development.
• Design, develop, and maintain full‑stack applications and orchestration systems using Node.js.
• Drive technical planning, architecture, and execution strategies for long‑term scalability and reliability.
• Oversee code quality through reviews, testing standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver seamless, customer‑focused experiences.
• Build and optimise automation engines, synchronization pipelines, APIs, and distributed systems for sandbox environments.
• Identify technical risks, troubleshoot production issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Promote Agile methodologies, knowledge sharing, and cross‑team collaboration.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.

Required profile

• Strong experience in software engineering leadership with both technical and managerial responsibilities.
• Advanced knowledge of object‑oriented programming principles and scalable system design.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, testable, production‑ready code.
