Team Lead Operations – Biotech Production

About the role

Lonza is building a new biotechnological production plant in Visp and seeks a motivated Team Lead Operations to drive vaccine production. You will lead a diverse team through both project and routine phases, ensuring high‑quality output in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a multi‑disciplinary team, conducting performance reviews and creating development plans.
• Manage daily production operations, set priorities, allocate resources and meet production and quality targets.
• Investigate deviations, lead continuous‑improvement projects and ensure compliance with safety and GMP standards.
• Collaborate with other leaders and departments to optimise processes and share best practices.
• Oversee shift handovers, inspections and the timely implementation of training plans.

Required profile

• Several years of leadership experience in biotechnological or large‑scale manufacturing (e.g., shift team leader, deputy, system specialist).
• Deep understanding of end‑to‑end production processes and systems.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering principles.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
• Structured, assertive, flexible and resilient, able to work a 4‑shift system.
