Team Leader Strategic Purchasing (Commodities)

About the role

We are looking for a Team Leader in Strategic Purchasing to drive the commodity segment for a leading manufacturer of combustion engines and hydraulic components. You will lead a dedicated purchasing team, shape the product segment strategy and ensure cost‑effective sourcing while supporting product changes and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the purchasing team and make strategic decisions for the commodity segment.
• Implement organisational and process changes.
• Define and execute the product segment strategy.
• Manage cost performance and associated reduction plans.
• Contribute to analyses, decision‑making and implementation of “Make or Buy” measures.
• Support product change management through purchasing actions.
• Manage risks related to strategic purchasing, supplier risks and product segments.
• Benchmark product portfolios.
• Participate actively in internal and supplier problem‑solving activities.

Required profile

• Technical or economic academic background.
• Solid experience in strategic purchasing within a technical field.
• Fluency in French and a very good level of English.
• Flexible, independent, reliable with a strong team spirit.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using ERP systems.
