Technology and Logistics Intern

About the role

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is seeking a Technology and Logistics Intern for a four‑month, full‑time placement in Geneva. The internship can be carried out on‑site or remotely and provides an opportunity to support the Division of Technology and Logistics in research, policy analysis, and event coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in research and policy analysis on trade, technology, logistics, e‑commerce and women’s economic empowerment.
• Prepare briefing notes, speeches and communication documents for the Director.
• Collect, classify and evaluate documents for the Division’s five‑year evaluation (2021‑2025).
• Support preparation of events and communication activities.
• Provide logistical and substantive back‑stopping for technical assistance and capacity‑building initiatives.
• Attend, service and summarise conferences, webinars and meetings related to the Division’s work.

Required profile

• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written communication skills for drafting notes and summaries.
• Ability to work independently under supervision and meet deadlines.
• Interest in trade facilitation, technology, logistics and sustainable development.
• Access to a computer with a modern browser and the latest Office suite.
