Training Manager & Instructor (Construction & Commissioning)

About the role

The Training Manager & Instructor designs, implements, coordinates and oversees GEV C&C's learning and development strategy for employees and subcontractors supporting C&C department activities. This hybrid role links organisational goals with individual career development by identifying competency gaps, building structured training programmes and preparing staff for site and office assignments. It covers training needs assessment, curriculum development, logistics, budget management, reporting and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify current and future training needs with function leaders and assess skill and competency gaps across construction and commissioning teams, including subcontractors
• Develop, maintain and use competency assessment tools, matrices and dashboards, and recommend targeted learning actions
• Design curricula for onboarding, compliance, technical, safety, leadership and professional development, and support role-based learning paths
• Translate technical requirements into practical training content with subject matter experts and coordinate training materials
• Run onboarding programmes and prepare field personnel and subcontractors for site assignments and mobilisation
• Manage training logistics: scheduling, attendance, venues, LMS follow-up, documentation and vendor relationships
• Prepare, allocate and monitor the training budget, negotiate with external trainers and report on expenditure
• Deliver internal trainings, collect participant feedback, analyse results and report on compliance, participation and outcomes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Experience in construction, commissioning, industrial operations, energy or field services is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of power generation, industrial plants or project execution environments
• Experience as a training coordinator/instructor is a plus
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
• Willingness to travel to offices, training centres and project sites, including Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the USA
